For beginners, the session emphasises foundation surface based snorkelling skills, which help you become more comfortable floating, using the snorkel, equalising your ears, and moving in the water smoothly with your fins. Safety skills, signals, choosing and fitting equipment, and proper breathing practices are developed.

For more experienced snorkellers, the session emphasises underwater skills as a skindiver, performing effortless duckdives, swimming in all directions (even upside-down), using a weighbelt, adjusting equipment and identifying better gear for your style of diving, plus safety skills including the buddy system and rescue skills practice. 

Optional PADI Skindiver Certification! - Choose to be assessed as a PADI Skindiver with proper demonstration of all the snorkelling and skindiving skills and you can receive your own printed PADI Skindiver certificate.

If you love seeing fish and diverse marine life in the sea, then these sessions are perfect for developing new skills, and even enhancing your underwater photography skills too.

Please note that breathing techniques to extend your breathhold are not included in these training sessions. If you are interested in learning freediving techniques, please join a private PADI Basic Freediver course or review the private freediving coaching sessions available.

Open to all levels of students interested in refining their snorkelling and skindiving techniques. Maximum depth range for the training is 3m (pool) and 5m (open water), depending on location and prevailing conditions.

Private sessions available:

• Private one-on-one expert instruction
• Private session for two or three participants to share expert advice and guidance
• Children aged 10 years and above may attend with a Parent as a participant (both must be in the water during the training, ie booking for two people)

Terms & Conditions:

• Session fees are non-refundable (unless the session is cancelled by us for unforeseen circumstances), please choose your experience with care. Trip insurance is highly recommended as cover for unforeseen cancellations
• Courses are held in East Gippsland, VIC
• Orbost swimming pool on Google Maps
• Lakes Entrance Aquadome on Google Maps
• Additional fees may apply for pool access and travel outside these areas
• Any changes to training location to be confirmed at least 24 hrs before the session
• All students must be minimum 10 years of age and accompanied by an adult parent or guardian
• You must have your own equipment, including wetsuit, mask, fins, snorkel. For skindiver training addition of weightbelt (weightbelt available for hire during booking if needed)
• A 4-5mm thick wetsuit is recommended for maximum warmth and performance
• Please bring swimmers, a towel, a hat, sunglasses and your own re-usable water bottle
  
• Guests must have basic swimming skills as a minimum. Training sessions do not cater for people with no swimming ability. The Instructor retains the right to refuse participation
  
• Guests with back, neck, shoulder or heart conditions, those who are pregnant or who have injuries/conditions that may cause a risk to their health are advised to not do these activities, or do so at their own risk
• A Diver's Medical Statement and Questionnaire must be submitted to attend the course
• A diving medical (AS4005.1) may be required prior to commencement of the course
• Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
• Water conditions can be unpredictable at times, this may cause physical injury, psychological stress or motion sickness
• Activities are rarely cancelled, the experience provider will reschedule your activity only in the case of severe weather which would make the experience unsafe
• The supplier reserves the right to substitute the location and / or change the day’s itinerary
